Learn to sail at Conestoga!

Welcome to the Conestoga Sailing School, the heart and soul of the club! For over 35 years, we've been teaching the sport of sailing to people, young and old, of all abilities. No prior sailing experience is necessary as our nationally certified sailing instructors start with the basics and guide you through the C.Y.A. Learn-to-Sail levels which are standard nationwide and recognized internationally.

Whether you seek a recreational pastime or a competitive sporting activity, our programs will equip you with the knowledge and skill to safely enjoy the sport of sailing, alone, with friends and family on board, or on the race course. Many of our Youth program sailors aspire to compete in sailing regattas at provincial national, and international level. The Conestoga Sailing School has been the training ground for Provincial Team sailors, National Youth Champions, and most recently a World Champion in the Byte class! Sailing develops teamwork and leadership skills, a respect for the environment and the discipline that comes with keeping everything in ship shape.

Many of our Adult program sailors join the club and enjoy both the recreational and competitive opportunities club membership provides. Several classes of sailboat have active racing fleets in the Southern Ontario area and are always recruiting interested racers. Some members organize recreational trips to other bodies of water just for pure recreation. We have a proud tradition of passing on our knowledge and enthusiasm to each new generation of sailor.
