2008 Program Details
The C.Y.A. Learn-to- Sail programs at Conestoga are designed to get you on the water as quickly and often as possible. You will begin by learning the basic skills needed to safely handle a sailboat. Brief, but informative, on-land lessons are applied on the water during fun and challenging sailing exercises.
Our three (3) week C.Y.A. Learn-to-Sail evening (6:00 - 9:00), weekend (9:30 - 4:00), or combo programs are designed to teach novice sailors the White Sail curriculum designed by the Canadian Yachting Association and delivered by certified instructors at yacht clubs nationwide. This program is designed to get you out on the water quickly and as often as possible. You will learn how to sail properly in all directions, using proper sail trim, and boat handling techniques. You will learn safety procedures to handle any eventuality with confidence. Certification for White Sail Level I and II granted upon successful completion of the program.
